And, one of my favorite blogs got its hands on it before it could be pulled off the internet. Listen to the track on Pinboardblog.
Dubstep Mania
More likely than not, you’ve heard the term “dubstep” around the net space. It’s a genre of music that has its roots in the bass heavy beats of drum and bass (D&B) and, even earlier, Jamaican dub music. Stimulating eardrums of adventurous listeners, music lovers and youth on all sorts of hallucinogens, dubstep has grown beyond the original spinners, Benga, Skream and Kode 9 among others, to pervade the electronic scene. “Dupstep Mania” includes only a light medley of dubstep. Some of the stuff out there is wild–too crazy even for my ears, i.e. La Roux’s “In For The Kill” (Skrillex Remix). I collected a few tasteful dubstep mixes below and threw in a couple ambient/intelligent dance music (IDM) tracks. Happy downloading!
Beware of no. 4, “Crush” gives off a pop impression but it will sneak up on you. Nadastrom’s remix is absolutely dirty. Download after the jump.

“Neon Gumbo” in Reverse
Thanks to Google, I searched my way to the answer to “WTH is Janelle Monae singing in no. 8?!” You know, because she seems quite far from a Satanist. Still, “Neon Gumbo” from Archandroid is eerily beautiful and is reversed below. Love it. Happy listening!
Robin Thicke and Leading Ladies
Until I can find a quality program to feed my playlist through, I have to settle with providing you with a list and places you can either download or (shocker!) pay for the tracks. This one’s mostly R&B and reggae–Erykah Badu, Janelle Monae, Lauryn Hill, Tanya Stephens, Robin Thicke and some Major Lazer mixes. Enjoy!

This blog is in dire need of updating! So…HELLO, AGAIN. It’s been a couple of months since I’ve checked up. I’ve had some time to collect myself. The recession has indeed had palpable affects on the American people. Albeit an American by way of naturalization, I am a prime example of what the situation has forced many young adults to become: out-of-school, out-of-work, bored and broke consumers. Smh. The economic fiasco “hit young people especially hard,” according to USA Today. The piece also included irritating statistics that showed how times were once oh-so-good to us youngin’s.
Only 47.6% of people ages 16 to 24 had jobs in August, the lowest level since the government began keeping track in 1948, according to the Labor Department. By Comparison, 62.8% of that age group was employed in August 2000.

Just Like Chicken Noodle Soup
Alice In Wonderland is to my eyes as chicken soup is to the teenage soul: MMM mm GOOD! This movie was some spectacle, some visual, vibrant hour and 50 minutes. First off, let’s talk about Helena Bonham Carter. Who is she? Why is she so amazing? I’m not questioning her. I’ve fallen in love and just need an explanation. She is so quirky and great as this mean, despised and emotionally scarred Red Queen. She brought humanity and humor to an unrelatable character. This woman is a blessing to her profession. OK, also, speaking of blessings, Johnny Depp. I love him. You love him. Let’s face it—he gon’ be sexy no matter what kind of mess he puts on, gets into and falls out of. He was brilliant, of course.
Oh! And! I want this armor that Mia Wasikowska wears in Wonderland during her combat scene. Yes, metal has its problems, but if it was in ready-to-wear form, I’d be all over it. Pair it with some black skinny jeans and strappy heels and you’d make a strong, fearless fashion statement at a night out on the town.

Louboutin- Differa Buckle Heel
Hot.Hot. Hottttttt. The closest to white shoes I own are metallic gold; I almost vehemently oppose white shoes, but i can do these. Ohhh man, could I do these!! The excessive straps remind me of a pair I had when I was a fresh-off-the-boat, skinny, village-tanned tween with messy, middle-parted hair….but, yep, still struttin’ cute little heels. And, I’m loving the ankle-high, punk-chic look. Coming up to $1500 at Bergdorf and Barney’s, these babies could pay for my off-campus housing next year. Must get my priorities right. —need job.
