Dubstep Mania

More likely than not, you’ve heard the term “dubstep” around the net space.  It’s a genre of music that has its roots in the bass heavy beats of drum and bass (D&B) and, even earlier, Jamaican dub music.  Stimulating eardrums of adventurous listeners, music lovers and youth on all sorts of hallucinogens, dubstep has grown beyond the original spinners, Benga, Skream and Kode 9 among others, to pervade the electronic scene.  “Dupstep Mania” includes only a light medley of dubstep.  Some of the stuff out there is wild–too crazy even for my ears, i.e. La Roux’s “In For The Kill” (Skrillex Remix).  I collected a few tasteful dubstep mixes below and threw in a couple ambient/intelligent dance music (IDM) tracks.  Happy downloading!

Beware of  no. 4, “Crush” gives off a pop impression but it will sneak up on you.  Nadastrom’s remix is absolutely dirty.  Download after the jump.
