You might be wondering about this URL “bipsblog.”
The answer is simple. Bips is a derivative of Bipasha, my middle name, and was coined by a bunch of hooligans that I call my dear family. It has been cemented even more so since the arrival of my niece in 2009 and her subsequent exploration into the world of language. The two-year-old gem refuses to call me anything but “Bips,” so hearing it fills me with an Almond Joy and Skittles kind of happiness.
I studied journalism and mass communication at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Before that, I lived my life in the suburbs of Raleigh, NC where dreams of a big city crept into my very soul. Prior to this, I played on rooftops and terraces overlooking the streets of Dhaka. Referred to as a megacity, the capital of Bangladesh is known to be the 9th largest city in the world with a population of 12 million; this is probably the reason for my shaking desire to escape the suburban lifestyle of North Carolina.
I love fashion, music, movies and the arts in general, which explains my blog in a nutshell. It’s a comment on anything and everything I find interesting and noteworthy.
My work interests and intentions lie in public relations and communication.
